About a mile south of Sand Harbor along Tahoe’s crystal clear rocky coves you will find Bonsai Rock. A large granite boulder with four small trees growing out of a crevice on the top, is one of Tahoe’s most iconic landmarks. One tree resembles a bonsai tree. The bonsai tree symbolizes peace, harmony, strength and luck. To get here by land you would drive a mile south from Sand Harbor and you can see this rock from the road. Parking is limited and you will need to walk down the steep terrain to the lake. This is a great area to kayak and paddle board or take a boat and swim in to check out Tahoe’s famous bonsai rock.
