What Our Guests Are Saying About Us

“We had a perfect day! Beautiful boat, nice gear and Captain Brian was great! He gave such good instructions, we all got up surfing and even dropped the rope. He was very knowledgeable about the lake and took us to some beautiful places. We will definitely be back surfing with these guys!”

“I was fortunate enough to join a Tahoe Bliss Boat Charter earlier this week. Jen made the whole booking process a breeze. I definitely will be going out with Brian and Kirby again ASAP! Both captains are professional and knowledgeable. Seeing their favorite spots on Tahoe is honestly the best way to see the lake. They provided wetsuits, so I was able to wake surf in May before the water warmed up. Captain Brian dialed in the wave for my ability level and I enjoyed my favorite tunes while surfing a private wave. I can't wait until my next bliss charter! Thanks guys!”

“Our sunset cruise with Tahoe Bliss was the perfect ending to my bachelorette party! We got picked up at our private dock, brought some drinks and snacks on board and the sunset sure didn’t disappoint. Our Captain was so fun! young, friendly and handsome. Perfect day on the lake! Can't wait to book with them again!”

FAQ's

  1. To rent a boat with a captain you can book online at: https://schedulewithtahoeblissboatcharters.as.me/ or give us a call at 775-954-0305

We recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance for summer weekends and 2+ months ahead for July 4th and Labor Day.

We charge the full rental rate of the boat at the time of booking. You will still owe the $60/hour captains fee that you will pay to your captain the day of the charter plus whatever gratuity you would like to leave 🙂

Yup! Give us a call and if a boat and captain are available we’d love to get you out on the water.

Our brand new 23’ MB wake surf boat is $850 for the boat and $120 for the captain for a total of $970, the four hour rate is $1300 for the boat and $240 for the captain, and the eight hour rate is $2200 for the boat and $480 for the captain for a total of $2680. On our 23’ Cobalt the two hour rate is $700 for the boat and $120 for the captain for a total of $820, the four hour rate is $900 for the boat and $240 for the captain for a total of $1140 and the eight hour rate is $1400 for the boat and $480 for the captain for a total of $1880.

Our rates include all fuel, life vests and USCG required safety equipment. All wakesurf equipment is included on the MB and you can rent a tube on either boat for $75. We provide a captain that will drive the boat at a rate of $60/hour. The captain will provide lessons for wake surfing and get the wave dialed to each riders ability as well as set up and provide instructions for tubing.

Yes! Fuel is included in our rental rate and you don’t need to worry about refueling.

Yes we offer half day, four hour rentals and full eight hour rentals.

When paying with a credit card there is a 3% fee, or give us a call if you’d like to pay cash for no fee!

You do not need a boating license to rent a boat on Lake Tahoe. However, anyone born after January 1, 1988 must have a California Boater Card if you are driving a boat you own. You don’t need to worry about this though as our Captains will be driving!

We require our guests to be 21+ to rent the boat.

It may differ for each company but for insurance purposes most companies require you to be 21+

Yes!! To rent a boat on Lake Tahoe you must have plenty of experience and feel comfortable and confident driving a boat. Our company will hire a captain so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe.

Yes a valid drivers license or ID is required.

You can rent open bow riders speed boats, wakesurf boats and pontoon boats. We have an MB wakesurf boat and an open bow Cobalt.

We no longer rent pontoon boats as they can be unsafe on the lake if the wind picks up. Due to the nature of Lake Tahoe and the large waves that can occur I would recommend renting a speed boat as they handle on the lake waves much better. Speedboats are also much better for water sports! If you do end up renting a pontoon somewhere I would recommend going in the morning as the lake is usually much calmer.

Yup! We offer tubing on both our boats and wakesurfing on our MB.

Coast Guard regulations cap passenger capacity at 13 passengers total. Our Cobalt can fit 8 total  (9 with small kids) and our MB can fit 10 (possibly 11 with all women or young kids)

Yes! All of our boats are driven by USCG captains that will provide a custom guided tour of Lake Tahoe.

We are located on the North and West side of the lake. Please give us a call for specifics.

Yes there is plenty of free street parking.

We are 45 minutes from South Lake, 10 minutes from Tahoe City and about 20 minutes from Kings Beach.

Depending on where you would like to get dropped off, our captains can usually accommodate this! They do need to be back at the starting locating at the end of the rental so you may need to get dropped off a bit early so your captain can stay on schedule.

There are no wake zones in buoy fields. In Emerald Bay you need to enter and exit through the channel markers, “red right return” enter on the right, exit on the right between the channel markers for two way traffic. Keep 1000 feet between you and other boaters as well as people on kayaks and paddle boards. Most rental companies require you to stay 300-400 yards if you are driving the boat without a captain (our company does not provide rentals without a captain)

It is unsafe and illegal to drive along the shoreline through a buoy field. Stay on the outside or lake side of any hazard buoys as they are indicating rocks from the shoreline.

It is safe as long as you have plenty of boating experience and are on the water when it is calm. Always check the weather and monitor conditions before boating. To play it safe, the morning is the best time to be on the water as it is usually the calmest.

In the winter the temperature is about 40 degrees and the lake never freezes. In the summer it’s between 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit. The water is the warmest in August and September as it’s been heating up all summer. The shoreline is the warmest where the water is shallower.

The east shore is a great spot! Some beaches include Whale Beach, Sand Harbor State Park, Hidden Beach, Skunk Harbor, Creek Beach and out from of the Thunderbird Lodge. On the west shore a few good spots are Rubicon Bay, D.L Bliss State Park and Sugar Pine Point State Park.

You can fish from our rental boats if you have your own fishing gear and fishing license.

Wakeboarding uses a larger boat with boots and bindings. You’re feet are strapped in and the boat goes much faster- 18-24mph. You hold onto the rope the whole time and are further from the boat riding the wake. For wakesurfing you are riding a smaller surf board without bindings. The boat is going much slower- 10-12mph and you let go of the rope once you are in the wave. In my opinion it’s easier to learn and doesn’t hurt as much when you fall! We offer wakesurfing but not wakeboarding.

Yes! Food and drinks are encouraged to stay hydrated and have fun. Please don’t bring anything messy or that could stain. Alcohol is allowed if you are 21+ but please no glass. Single-use plastic and styrofoam are discouraged.

Yes! We offer private, two hour sunset cruises. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful place to catch the sunset. Feel free to bring some wine and a cozy blanket for a perfect date night.
