Tucked behind the shores of Lake Tahoe, about three miles south of Tahoe City, you will find Blackwood Canyon. This area is known for its beautiful hiking trails in the summer and the Sno-Park in the winter. Winter activities managed by the Sno-Park include snowmobiling, snow shoeing, dog sledding and cross-country and downhill skiing. Adjacent to Blackwood Canyon you will find Eagle Rock. A large protruding cliff sitting on the edge of Tahoe’ West Shore. Eagle Rock can be seen by boat or you can check out its stunning views from the top. The hike to the top is about a 0.7 mile hike that is a quick 25 minute uphill hike.
