Heading North up Tahoe’s west shore you will find another beautiful state park- Sugar Pine Point State Park. This park is a two mile stretch of lakefront known for its beautiful shoreline and lush forest. Sugar Pine Park is known for the historic Hellman-Ehrman Mansion also called the Pine Lodge. This historic home was built in 1903 and was owned by the wealthy financier, Isaias W. Hellman and was then passed on to his daughter until 1965. This park has a sandy beach as well as several miles of hiking trails. Other activities to do here include checking out the bird display in the Nature Center and fishing in the General Creek.
